Overnight: Edinburgh

Group of people on a hilltop overlook with a cityscape and mountains in the background.

DAY 2 • August 7, 2027

Where the Game Began

Step onto Musselburgh Links, where golf has been played for centuries. Playing a relaxed round with traditional hickory clubs offers a glimpse into the game’s earliest form, simple and grounded in the land. Later, in Gullane, encounter the craftsmanship behind early clubs and begin to sense how deeply the game is rooted in place and tradition.

Overnight: East Lothian

Two people dressed in colorful traditional costumes celebrate at a parade, with background spectators also dressed festively.

DAY 3 • August 8, 2027

Learning the Links Game

Play Gullane No. 2, a course chosen for its place in the history and character of Scottish golf. With sweeping coastal views and natural terrain, it reflects the same landscape that defines the region’s most celebrated links. Here, wind, ground, and creativity shape each shot, inviting a deeper understanding of the game.

Overnight: Ayr/Prestwick

A boat with passengers wearing life jackets traveling on a river with lush green trees and a large tree in the background.

DAY 4 • August 9, 2027

Where The Open Began

Walk the fairways of Prestwick Golf Club, where the first Open Championship was played in 1860. This is a course shaped by tradition, character, and the natural contours of the land. With the guidance of local caddies, experience the game as it has been played here for generations. A day here invites you to settle into the rhythm of the course and take in its enduring character.

A riverside scene with lush green grass and trees, a calm river, and a partly cloudy sky.

DAY 5 • August 10, 2027

Island Golf, Unscripted

Cross to the Isle of Arran and step into a different rhythm of the game. At Shiskine Golf Club, a unique 12-hole course shaped by the land and local tradition, golf feels less defined by structure and more by experience. Playing two loops allows time to take in the setting, where the landscape and spirit of the game come together.

Overnight: Isle of Arran

An old red three-wheeled motorcycle with a cargo box on the back parked in front of a building with yellow columns and a chalkboard sign on the sidewalk.

Settling into Campbeltown

Travel along the Kintyre Peninsula into Campbeltown, where the pace slows and the landscape opens to sea and sky. Once known as the whisky capital of Scotland, this coastal town carries a quiet sense of history and community. The afternoon offers space to explore, reflect, and settle into a place where the game feels deeply rooted.

Overnight: Campbeltown

Aerial view of a historic town with red-tiled roofs and a church with a red dome, along a river with green banks, under a blue sky.

DAY 7 • August 12, 2027

Along the Atlantic Edge

Play Machrihanish Golf Club, where the course meets the Atlantic in one of Scotland’s most dramatic settings. With roots connected to Old Tom Morris, this storied links reflects the enduring character of the game. Shaped by wind, terrain, and tradition, it invites imagination and rewards thoughtful play across a vast coastal landscape.

Overnight: Campbeltown

A white auto rickshaw with green graffiti on its front, parked in a narrow alleyway between two rough walls. The windshield has an orange banner with black text that reads 'VIVA AFRICA'.

DAY 8 • August 13, 2027

A Modern Links Expression

Play Machrihanish Dunes, a modern interpretation of traditional links golf set alongside the historic fairways of Machrihanish Golf Club. Designed in harmony with the natural landscape, the course offers a different perspective on the game. In the evening, gather for a shared dinner with a guest speaker reflecting on the traditions and evolving story of golf.

Overnight: Campbeltown

  • This journey is designed for passionate golfers of all abilities who are drawn to the roots and heritage of the game — and to the remarkable landscapes upon which golf has been played for centuries. It will especially appeal to those who value the story, traditions, and communities of golf more than simply chasing bucket-list courses, though the tour does include a few storied venues deeply connected to the game’s origins.

This is a high-energy golf experience. Participants should be prepared to walk undulating links terrain and, in many cases, shouldering their own bag in a traditional way or with the companionship of a local caddie. With the long daylight hours of summer, some days may offer opportunities for additional holes or even a traditional Scottish 36-hole day for those eager to play more.

Players should also expect to enjoy the brisk pace of play typical of Scottish links golf, where the rhythm of the game reflects the land, the wind, and the traditions of the courses themselves.

Across the journey, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy 6+ rounds of golf, with additional play available depending on personal interest.

  • Accommodations throughout the journey are thoughtfully selected to reflect the character of each region, including a three-night stay in shared coastal cottages in Campbeltown.

Pricing is based on shared accommodations, with two travelers per room. Many guests join on their own and are paired with another traveler of the same gender.

  • This tour is intentionally limited to 12–16 travelers to preserve the quality of the experience, access to tee times, and the shared rhythm of the journey.
