Tamara Roehr is the owner of Gingerbread World, a Winnipeg-based specialty shop dedicated to celebrating the traditions, craftsmanship, and flavours of a European Christmas. For more than a decade, she has enjoyed curating collections of authentic European folk art, seasonal décor, and specialty confections, including favourites such as Lebkuchen and Stollen. 

What Tamara loves most is discovering the stories behind the products she brings to her customers. Whether learning about centuries-old Christmas traditions, meeting artisans and family-owned companies, or exploring the history of a beloved recipe, she is endlessly fascinated by the people and places that keep these traditions alive. Over the years, she has travelled throughout Europe to visit many of the makers and suppliers whose work appears in her shop, building personal relationships that have deepened her appreciation for European culture and heritage. 

A lifelong traveller, Tamara first explored the world with her parents, later on her own, and eventually with her own children. She is especially excited to share this Christmas Market and river cruise experience with travellers because it brings together so many of her passions: festive traditions, history, food, craftsmanship, and meaningful cultural connections. She has long dreamed of taking a European river cruise and loves the way it combines immersive exploration with the comfort of returning each evening to a welcoming floating home. 

Tamara lives in Manitoba with her husband, Garry. Together they have three adult children, including Signe, a TourMagination tour manager who will be joining her on this special journey. When she is not working or travelling, Tamara enjoys spending time at the family cottage and exploring Manitoba’s lakes and rivers by Sea-Doo.
