Monika grew up in Toronto in a close-knit Estonian household, where tradition and community shaped her early years. She earned her degree in Recreation and Leisure from Brock University in St. Catherines, and during her graduating year, met Rob — a moment that marked the beginning of a lifelong journey together. 

Rob, raised on a fruit farm in Ontario’s Niagara Region, grew up surrounded by the values of his Pennsylvania Mennonite heritage. He studied Agriculture at the University of Guelph, where he cultivated a deep respect for the land and its rhythms. 

Together, Monika and Rob have built a life that blends urban energy with rural roots. They are proud parents of two wonderful children, both of whom have married into Dutch traditions, adding another rich layer to their family’s cultural tapestry. 

With a shared love for adventure and a deep appreciation for the blessings God has provided, Monika and Rob embrace life with gratitude, curiosity, and joy — always seeking new experiences and meaningful connections.
