Nelson Kraybill
Bible Scholar · Author · Pastor · Storyteller · Bonsai Enthusiast · Photographer · Bicyclist
Nelson Kraybill thrives on connecting ancient sites and texts with scripture and early church narratives, always with a view to how the witness of previous generations is relevant for Christian life today. Over a period of four decades he has variously served as a pastor, cross-cultural missioner, college instructor, seminary administrator, and Mennonite World Conference president.
His book on Revelation (Apocalypse and Allegiance), remains available and popular in multiple languages. His recent study on civility (Stuck Together: The Hope of Christian Witness in a Polarized World) is timely for our world today. Nelson was scholar-in-residence at Bethlehem Bible College in Palestine (2022–23) and co-founder of Bridge Builders Mediation Service in England. With a blog (www.peace-pilgrim.com) he provides popular-level articles on biblical sites.
Having led pilgrimage to Bible lands since 2008, his teaching is accessible and inspiring for persons with all levels of biblical knowledge. His tours typically include singing, prayer, discussion and laughter.
