Carolyn Regehr

Sustainable Traveler · Outdoor Enthusiast · Adventurer · People & Culture Focused

For Carolyn Regehr, Morocco is more than a destination. It's a place she proudly considers her second home.

Shortly after Carolyn and her husband, Chris, were married, they took a leap of faith. They packed up their belongings, sold their house, and moved to Morocco, where they spent five unforgettable years living and working at an international school. What began as an adventure quickly became a deep love for the country and its people.

Carolyn spent weekends wandering vibrant markets with Moroccan friends, learning the art of Moroccan cooking, and discovering the stories behind everyday traditions. Chris embraced Moroccan life through football matches with local friends and by learning to surf along the Atlantic coast. Together they experienced the extraordinary warmth of Moroccan hospitality, the kind that turns strangers into friends and visitors into family.

Their years in Morocco were filled with exploration, from the Atlantic coast to the Sahara Desert, from the Atlas Mountains to ancient medinas tucked behind centuries-old walls. One of life's greatest milestones happened there as well. Their first son was born in Casablanca, and they continued exploring the country as a young family. Although they eventually returned to Canada, Morocco has never left their hearts.

Beyond Morocco, Carolyn has travelled in 49 countries and has led and served in diverse cultural settings around the world. Her experiences include volunteering with MCC through the SALT program in Bangladesh, leading university groups in Guatemala, guiding adventures in Kenya, working as a hiking guide in the Yukon, and spending five months exploring South America with her family.

Carolyn believes meaningful travel is rooted in connection, curiosity, and shared experience. Her guiding style is warm, relational, and deeply engaging, inviting travelers to slow down, ask questions, and discover the stories that make each place unique.

When she isn't travelling, Carolyn is usually outdoors. She enjoys cycling with her family, hiking forest trails, training for triathlons, and creating videos that capture her family's adventures across Manitoba and around the world. Her passion for sustainable travel and caring for the places she visits continues to shape every journey she leads.
