Bread for the Journey: Egypt & Jordan

Sept 24 - Oct 3; Oct 3-6, 2026

Moderate

the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, with the ancient structures set against a clear, bright sky

Visit magnificent ancient sites that reveal why Egypt was such a dominant force in the biblical world. This meaningful journey traces central themes of Scripture—escape from slavery, sojourn in the wilderness, and movement toward the Promised Land. Walk in the footsteps of Abraham and Sarah, Joseph, Moses and Miriam, and the Israelites—right in the lands where their stories unfolded.

Relish a five-day, unhurried cruise along the timeless Nile River, stopping to explore awe-inspiring temples, palaces, and sacred sites. Gain deeper understanding of how Hebrew prophets viewed Egypt, and why Jewish and early Christian communities both flourished and faced hardship in this land. In Cairo, encounter the vibrancy of modern Egypt during guided visits to both Coptic Christian and Islamic quarters. Throughout the tour, you’ll travel with a community of fellow pilgrims—worshiping, learning, eating, and reflecting together in a journey that will forever change the way you read the Bible.

For those who continue on the optional Jordan extension, follow the route of the Israelites all the way to Mount Nebo, where Moses glimpsed the Promised Land. Explore Petra—the breathtaking Nabatean city carved from rock—and take in the stark beauty of Wadi Rum’s desert wilderness. As we pass through the region of ancient Moab, reflect on the story of Ruth, and listen afresh to Balaam’s surprising blessing of Israel. This extension adds a powerful layer of depth and meaning to an already transformative experience.
