Monday, June 28 Kota Kinabalu
Arrive into Kota Kinabalu, the state capital of Sabah. Often referred to as KK by locals and international visitors. Named after the nearby mountain, Kinabalu is the economic centre of Sabah. This city sits on the Northwest coast of Borneo and looks out over the South China Sea. Kinabalu had been occupied numerous times throughout the 1800s and as such there are many Islamic and Japanese cultural influences throughout the city.
Tuesday, June 29 Sungai Kinabatangan
Travel to Kinabatangan via Kundasang. Along the way enjoy an easy hike, visit a farm market and attend a cooking class. Continue to the immersive jungle lodge on Kinabatangan River, Sabah’s longest. After settling in, head out on a river cruise to experience the serenity of evening river life (keep your eyes peeled for birds and monkeys and crocodiles). Enjoy dinner then opt for a guided night walk through the jungle. Spend the next two nights in a basic jungle lodge. (B, L, D)
Wednesday, June 30 Sungai Kinabatangan
Begin the day with a river safari to witness the morning wildlife activity. After breakfast, visit the nearby oxbow lake with a professional guide and seek out proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, macaques, and gibbons. Enjoy another river cruise for a second chance to spot more wildlife (you never know what you may see) before returning to the lodge for dinner. (B, L, D)
Thursday, July 1 Sepilok
Depart in the morning for a scenic drive to Sepilok – a wildlife haven. Enjoy a visit to the orangutan rehabilitation centre to see the rehabilitated Orangutans and the adjacent sun bear conservation centre to see the smallest bears. Spend the next two nights at Sepilok Jungle Resort, enjoying the beauty of the surrounding jungle. (B, L, D)
Friday, July 2 Sepilok
Day at leisure. Optional activities include a Mangrove Cruise to see the fireflies while enjoying some local cuisine or Sandakan Nature tour with a seafood dinner. (B, L, D)
Saturday, July 3 Pulau Libaran
Transfer to Sandakan and continue by boat to Libaran Island, also known as Turtle Island because thousands of sea turtles return to nest each year. Take a guided tour of the island’s turtle hatchery and learn about the turtle conservation program. Later, visit the local village and experience what life is like on the island. Opt to go snorkelling or kayaking with some free time. Spend the night in a tent at Walai Penyu Resort, with an outside shared bathroom. (B, L, D)
Sunday, July 4 Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, depart Libaran Island and travel back to the Sandakan jetty. From the jetty, transfer to Sandakan airport for a flight to Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Monday, July 5 Kuala Lumpur
Your morning tour of the city covers the major historical landmarks. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the observation deck of the KL Tower. Your afternoon is at leisure to pursue independent activities – your tour leader will provide you with some options. For dinner, enjoy one of the many nearby local restaurants on your own or with some of your new friends. (B)

Transfer to the airport to depart for home or MWC Assembly Gathered in Semerang, Indonesia.
