France Cruise, August 25

Today we sent the morning touring the historic city of Vienne along the Rôane. A number of us challenged the walking tour which led us up a very steep climb to the top of Mont Pipet. Along the way we walked amongst some amazing Roman ruins which were estimated to be well over 2000 years old. (First three photos below).

Quiet rest stop and opportunity to learn about the preservation of Roman artifacts unearthed over the years in Vienne.

After lunch our floating hotel, the AmaCello, set off down the picturesque and winding Rôane river traversing under bridges and through multiple locks. The light breeze was welcomed when enjoying the view from the upper deck.
