Experience first-century life in Israel at Nazareth Village
Experience 1st-c. life at Nazareth Village

Wednesday, May 1
This morning, we will visit Nazareth Village and experience for ourselves what life would have been like when Jesus walked the streets of Nazareth. This Christian interpretative centre makes the Bible come to life with its faithful recreation of the village of Nazareth as it was in Jesus’ day. We will enjoy a Parable Walk, hearing Jesus’ parables in a setting that might have inspired the images he used. We will also share a first-century lunch at Nazareth Village. In the afternoon, we will take a walking tour of the city of Nazareth, visiting sites such as Mary’s Well and the Basilica of the Annunciation. We will drive to Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. We will then travel to a kibbutz on the Sea of Galilee where we will stay for the next two nights.

Thursday, May 2
Today’s activities will include a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee in a replica first-century boat. Together we will remember the experiences of Jesus and his disciples on this sea. We will also visit the Mount of Beatitudes, the Church of the Loaves and Fishes, and the towns of Bethsaida and Capernaum. At noon, we will enjoy a special St. Peter’s fish lunch. Later in the afternoon, we will have a meaningful visit to the Jordan River, the river in which Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.
