Our annual Mexico and its Copper Canyon tour with David Friesen as storyteller has been a very popular TourMagination tour. At a recent staff meeting I informed our staff why I think this tour is so important.

TourMagination’s mission is to build bridges among Mennonites, Christians and people of other faiths around the world. We have a very important role in helping to build bridges among the Mexican Mennonites, who are so often misunderstood. We have an opportunity to establish relationships in their community, and to help them create relationships with the broader Mennonite community, as well as the communities in which they live and work.

David Friesen and I look forward to taking our next group to Mexico and its Copper Canyon, March 5-14, 2010. The group will be interacting with the various colonies in Cuauhtemoc as well as El Valle Colony in addition to visiting the magnificent Copper Canyon.

When I think of our Springtime in Holland, Belgium and Germany Tour, one of the first things that comes to my mind is the flowers. From the Aalsmeer Flower Auction and the Keukenhof Gardens to the fields of flowers we pass along our way, it is truly beautiful to see these signs of spring!

That is why I am delighted that Rhoda Oberholzer of Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill, Lititz, Pennsylvania will be joining me on our Springtime in Holland, Belgium and Germany 2010 tour. Rhoda is well known for her devotionals, in which she shares scripture through flower design. She will be sharing her knowledge of flowers and inside tips on gardening throughout the tour.

This twelve-day tour will give us an opportunity to visit small towns and larger cities, to worship, to enjoy shopping and culture. This is also the first of TourMagination’s 15 tours to enjoy the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play.
