We have had an excellent start to the pre-tour of Moses Footsteps. After arriving in Cairo we headed to Aswan. Here we had a meeting with MEDA’s project staff in Microfinance and Children. The working children gave a presentation on the project and the photodocumentation. Delmar Remple gave them a class on improving their picture taking.

In the afternoon we went by small boat through the Aswan Cataracts to a Nubian village. Surrounded by camels and colorful buildings we visited a Nubian family. Here Jane Cope was able to hold a live baby crocodile and pose for their Christmas picture.

Before supper the part of the group who was still awake went on a walk throught the market. We stopped for mint tea at a tea house by the railway station.

After supper we finally got some needed rest on our ship. Today we set sail down the Nile towards Luxor. What and adventure already!
