Ed Epp joins TourMagination
TourMagination is pleased to announce that Ed Epp, vice-president of resource development at MEDA, will be joining our team on May 1, 2008. Ed shared with us that he “has been privileged to live and make friends in almost every part of the world. One of my favorite things is to introduce people to new countries, cultures, people and landscapes. Sharing, even in small ways, my experiences have always been a highlight for me. I can do this even more now, with TourMagination.” We look forward to the gifts Ed brings to TourMagination and you, our clients.

Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and MWC - Mennonite Church Canada (Tour #2)

Mennonite World Conference 2009

July 5-20, 2009
Leaders: Tim Froese & Wilmer Martin

TourMagination has planned this tour with Mennonite Church Canada to visit and learn from churches in Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay and to support Mennonite Church Canada Witness partners in various locations. Wilmer Martin, president of TourMagination, who has led many tours to South America and around the world, and Tim Froese who is Executive Director and Mission Facilitator for Latin America of Mennonite Church Canada Witness International Ministries, will lead this tour. Besides interacting with churches, there will be some time for sightseeing such as a day trip to Valparaiso in Chile and Iguazu Falls. The highlight will be attending the 15th Global Assembly of Mennonite World Conference in Asuncion, Paraguay. Alfred Neufeld, chairperson of Assembly 15 National Coordinating Council says: “We need your blessing; come and bless us. We need your correction; come and correct us. We need your counsel; come and counsel us. We need your encouragement; come and encourage us.” We also need to seek their blessing, correction and encouragement.

Sunday & Monday, July 5 & 6

The group will gather in Miami on Sunday evening for an overnight flight to Santiago, Chile. It will be mid-morning on Monday when we arrive in Santiago (officially Santiago de Chile). Before transferring to our hotel, we will have a brief city tour to acquaint us with Chile’s capital city. Since it is winter, there will be snow on the Andes Mountains that are a backdrop to the city.

On Saturday, we will travel out of Montevideo to the German-speaking Mennonite colony called Delta after the Vistula Delta in their homeland in Poland. We will learn about the migration of Mennonites to Uruguay and how they came to settle here and in other areas.

It will be a time to praise God together for all the ways we have learned how he is working through the church around the world.
