Ed Epp joins TourMagination
TourMagination is pleased to announce that Ed Epp, vice-president of resource development at MEDA, will be joining our team on May 1, 2008. Ed shared with us that he “has been privileged to live and make friends in almost every part of the world. One of my favorite things is to introduce people to new countries, cultures, people and landscapes. Sharing, even in small ways, my experiences have always been a highlight for me. I can do this even more now, with TourMagination.” We look forward to the gifts Ed brings to TourMagination and you, our clients.

Bus Trip to Pennsylvania

With tour leaders Wilmer and Janet Martin

TourMagination regularly receives requests for North American coach tours which we occasionally plan. This four-day excursion has been planned to include the play, In the Beginning, which is performed at the Sight and Sound Millennium Theatre near Strasburg. The other days will include sightseeing and a guided tour of Lancaster County. If you would like to accompany Wilmer and Janet Martin, owners of TourMagination who grew up in Pennsylvania, on this short tour and you don’t live in the Waterloo Region of Ontario, we can make arrangements for you to fly into Toronto to join the group. September will be a beautiful time to explore Lancaster County.

Thursday, September 25

We will need to get an early start to make the day’s journey to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Please be at the St. Agatha Mennonite Church, 1967 Erb’s Road (west of Waterloo and 1 kilometre west of St. Agatha), by 6:45 a.m. so the coach can depart promptly at 7:00 a.m. There will be breaks for rest stops and lunch as we cross the border at Fort Erie/Buffalo and travel through New York State to Pennsylvania and on to our destination. We will be lodged at the Courtyard by Marriott for three nights. You will enjoy the buffet dinner at Oregon Dairy Restaurant this evening.

Friday, September 26

This morning we will drive to southern Lancaster County to take a factory tour at Herr’s Snack Foods to see how their products are made. Then it’s on to Shady Maple Smorgasbord for a taste of Lancaster County prepared in the traditional Pennsylvania Dutch way. Mid-afternoon we will have a guided tour at the Landis Valley Museum, the largest “living history” village in the country dedicated to the total preservation of early Pennsylvania German life. Supper will be at a fast food restaurant (if you have room after your smorgasbord lunch!).

Saturday, September 27

This morning we will meet a local Mennonite person at the Mennonite Information Center who will take us on a guided tour of Lancaster County to see the countryside and learn about the local history including the Amish and Mennonites living here. We hope to see a local market where the produce is brought in by horse and wagon. The highlight of the day will be seeing the play, In the Beginning, at Sight and Sound’s large Millennium Theatre. This musical brings Creation to life. Be there as God creates the heavens and the earth and all the extraordinary animals. Witness the fall of Adam and Eve, and their glorious restoration. With spectacular special effects, In the Beginning, promises to be an experience beyond your imagination! Dinner will be at the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant.

Sunday, September 28

We will need to depart at 8:00 a.m. to return to Ontario. We will have our own worship en route as we travel. We will make stops for lunch and rest breaks. Our last meal together will be at the Edgewater Restaurant at Niagara Falls. Arrival back at St. Agatha Mennonite Church should be around 9:00 p.m.
