Join John and Naomi Lederach, well-loved TourMagination tour leaders, on a springtime cruise on the Rhine, Mosel and Main Rivers from Amsterdam to Paris, visiting many interesting German cities and then taking a coach to Paris after the seven-day cruise to see the sights in this famous city for three days. You will be in the countries of The Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and France. Saturday & Sunday, March 22 & 23 You will depart on an overnight flight to Amsterdam which will arrive on Sunday morning. You will be met by an Amadeus representative who will help you transfer by bus to the ship moored near the city center where you will meet your tour leaders and other tour members. Enjoy tea time and get acquainted with the ship and other travelers before dinner time. Monday, March 24 After breakfast, admire beautiful 17th century homes, charming churches and 16th century merchant houses on a guided coach and canal boat tour of Amsterdam. After seeing a bit of Amsterdam, the ship will depart for Germany. As you sail, there will be an afternoon information briefing of the week ahead. Tuesday, March 25 The ship arrives this morning in Dusseldorf, Germany, mooring on the Rhine embankment next to the historic Old Town. Here you will disembark for a walking tour to see the Burgplatz with its Old Castle Tower, Marktplatz with the Town Hall and the shopping street called Kings Avenue. Later, continue cruising on the Rhine to Cologne, arriving in the afternoon where you will visit the 13th century Gothic cathedral. The ship overnights in Cologne and is minutes away from the Old Town, perfect for after-dinner exploration. ![]() Castles along the Rhine River Today, drink in the stunning beauty of the castles along the Rhine as we sail through the fascinating Rhine Gorge, and cruise past the famous Lorelei Rock. In the afternoon, arrive in Frankfurt, the bustling metropolis on the River Main; here enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic city center, “The Romer.” Thursday, March 27 Today, you decide: Either disembark for a trip to Mainz or travel by motorcoach to Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town, where you will visit the red-walled castle with its great vat, a 49,000-gallon 18th-century wine cask, and enjoy the beautiful views of the Neckar Valley and Heidelberg below. Then there is a walking tour of old Heidelberg and free time before returning to the ship. If you choose Mainz, your guided walking tour of this beautiful town includes the famous Gutenberg Museum, home of the world’s first printed Bible. During lunch, the ship will cruise to the charming town of Boppard. Once a Roman fortress on the banks of the Rhine, this ancient town is now a nice stop for a free afternoon. Later on, cruise to Koblenz where you can take an evening escorted walk around town. Friday, March 28 After breakfast, we will begin cruising the beautiful Mosel River with its steep-sided banks of vineyards. After lunch, we will stop in Cochem, where you will enjoy a guided visit of Reichsburg Castle, with spectacular views of the river. Saturday, March 29 The ship will arrive in Bernkastel early in the morning and you will have a walking tour to explore this quaint little town which is strategically located in the middle of the Mosel wine-producing region. Then it’s on to Trier, Germany’s oldest city, for a guided tour which will introduce you to the city’s rich ancient Roman past, including the Amphitheater, site of ancient gladiator games. Sunday, March 30 This morning you will bid farewell to the MS Amadagio and its crew and head by motorcoach to Luxembourg for a city tour of the Grand Duchy and some free time. After lunch, continue on to Paris, where you will arrive this afternoon. ![]() Eiffel Tower at Night This is your chance to see Paris’ famous sights during this morning’s guided tour. Visit Notre Dame Cathedral, pass by the Louvre Museum, the commemorative Arc de Triomphe, Opera, Madeleine, Champs Elysées and much more. The remainder of the day is yours to explore on your own. Tuesday, April 1 Your last day in the “City of Lights” is free for you to enjoy. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, built for the 1889 world’s Fair; gaze at the Impressionist collection at Musee D’Orsay, or stroll along the Seine, or choose one of the various optional tours that are offered. Wednesday, April 2 Today we must say goodbye to Paris and each other and board our flights back to North America.
