Happy New Year! As 2008 draws to a close, we want to thank you for your
continued confidence in TourMagination and for traveling with us in the past
year and for the many of you who have already registered on 2009 and 2010
tours.

Please join TourMagination in our prayer for peace as we go into a new year.
We think of the conflicts in Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, and other
troubled places in our world.

Today at my meetings I learned how this community welcomes the world every 10 years. In 2000, people from 107 countries came to Oberammergau to see the Passion Play present the message of God’s gift to humanity in Jesus Christ. The ticket sales are well ahead of 2000, with over 90 percent already sold.

Villagers are being assigned roles for the play. To have a part in the play, you must be a citizen of Oberammergau. When you ask villagers, they will tell you their role in 2010 but also 2000, 1990 and years before. Georg showed me a picture of him in the role of Pontius Pilate in the 1990 play.

It is such a joy to work with the Oberammergau business community. Hotel Turmwirt is now owned by the 4th generation. Walking around this community of 5,800 persons everyone seems to know each other. A real feeling of community. TourMagination looks forward to bringing 710 persons to see the passion play in 2010. We hope you will join us.

This morning I met with Georg Glas from Hotel Turmwirt and Jo Theisen from the Passion Play office. They informed me that the passion play for 2010 has tremendous enthusiasm around the world. The tickets are 90 percent sold. Sales are 6 months ahead of 2000.
All TourMagination tickets and Hotel beds at Hotel Turmwirt are confirmed. I told them that our 15 tours are selling strongly and that they are already 30 percent sold.

It is exciting being in beautiful Oberammergau with fresh snow on the ground and meeting the villagers who are planning for the passion play.

The excitement is building for Oberammergau 2010. The last week of November I spent a few days in Manitoba working with several pastors, inviting them to be advocates of TourMagination’s tours and encourage persons to attend the Oberammergau Passion Play. We will have 15 tour groups that will attend the Oberammergau Passion Play, beginning in May 2010 and ending in September 2010.

Yesterday I returned from Vancouver where I also met with a pastor who is excited about traveling to Oberammergau to see the passion play with his parishioners. I informed him that our tours are 30% subscribed. Invite your pastor to talk to TourMagination to organize a group from your congregation.
